KASHMIR FLOOD RELIEF CAMP
After the recent Floods in Kashmir, NGO Rouble Nagi Art Foundation has been helping two Relief Camps in Lasjan area in the outskirts of the city. So far no relief material has been dispatched there except for ngo RNAF (Rouble Nagi Art Foundation). RNAF is a Mumbai based ngo, and is actively involved in volunteering work along with support in flood affected area’s in Srinagar. Rouble Nagi the founder of RNAF says “ I am overwhelmed with the response we have received for help from the people of Mumbai, we have been sending clothes, medicines, food, baby food, blankets, animal food and other relief material ”. Over 200 people have been killed in the devastating floods in the state. Right now the first & foremost work is relief, health, flood control says Nagi. Even after the flood water recedes from capital Srinagar, though many parts are still water-logged there will be medical aid which will be required. Most NGO’s are doing a good job but there is a shortage of life saving drugs, sanitary products, pain killers in the camps. Waterborne diseases like cholera are common in flood affected regions. We will be sending relief material almost every week, as much as we can. People of Mumbai have been helpful and expect the same from them in the coming weeks.
